Optimal wood drying starts with perfect stickering
A successful drying process starts with the basics: correct stickering. An accurate and consistent distribution of battens prevents warping, cracking and uneven drying. At Gendis, we use a standardized method to ensure that your wood is optimally prepared for the drying process.
Why is good stickering so important?
Proper stickering of wood provides:
Minimal deformation – Equal pressure distribution prevents warping and cracking.
Efficient air circulation – Even drying through controlled air flows.
Consistent quality – A homogeneous moisture content for a perfect end result.
Our approach: machine stickering and de-stickering
We have two advanced stickering machines suitable for different lengths:
– Short lengths (50-200 cm) – Perfectly arranged and stacked for an efficient drying process.
– Longer lengths (200-650 cm) – Carefully stabilized for maximum quality.
We use slats of exactly 2 cm thickness, which are always straight above each other. The distance between the slats is precisely regulated to ensure optimal air circulation.
Manual stickering: a flexible solution
Sometimes machine stickering is not possible or desired. In that case, depending on the type and condition of the wood, we offer the option of manual stickering. This allows us to guarantee quality. We will discuss with you in advance whether this is possible.
Your guarantee of a competent stickering process
At Gendis, we not only take care of stickering, but also de-sticking after the drying process. This keeps your timber in top condition and ready for processing or transport.
